I believe if there is a Buy It Now option active on an item, and the bid equals the Buy It Now price, that the auction automatically ends and the bidder has bought it. Maybe that's what happened to you.
Clayton,
That made it pretty painless, didn't it? If you wanted that stamp and bid on it, you got it. No fuss or muss, just another wham bam, thank you ....! LOL There seems to be quite a few dealers listing stamps that way, which takes the hassle of a bidding war out of buying stamps.
I IT!

Mike, is that sort of like the Pony Express riders not having to fight off Indian and bandit raids when they tried to deliver the mail?
What a great analogy that is. If only they had "Post It Now" back in the "good old days" there would have been a lot less killin's and scalpin's. Those PE riders might have been able to make that trip in only 4 days, instead of 5, with all the time they would have saved. Naw, I thing the union rules were for 5 day deliveries. C'est la vie!
I was thinking it was,ME! But, no... When placing some "bids," it suddenly says... "Buy It Now," Successful. Hhhmmm...
