to report to stamp collectors everywhere that the post office in Leavenworth, Washington,
continues to survive despite offering first-class service and friendly chit-chat.
My wife and I frequently visit this American interpretation of a Bavarian village
to enjoy the mountain scenery, American hospitality and outstanding postal service.

This is a fine photo, John - thanks for this glimpse into our current world of the USPS that we collectors so dearly want to keep!
It would be a wonderful undertaking if we could each take the time to snap off a pic of our local/favorite/nearest P.O., especially if you include yourself in the photo...and post it here, right under John's!
I plan on doing this very thing as soon as I get back from my local post office tomorrow with the pic!
....what do you all say?!?

Okay, here's my submission from lil ol' Greenville....just took it today;
Yes, that's me on the steps - was taken at this distance to get the entire building in the shot.
...happens to be Sunday and right after church, so no one around.
....who's next??

In a world of diminishing values and disappearing post offices, I am most pleased
to report to stamp collectors everywhere that the post office in Leavenworth, Washington,
continues to survive despite offering first-class service and friendly chit-chat.
My wife and I frequently visit this American interpretation of a Bavarian village
