I recall reading a note that said the holograms can curl and separate ( at the edges ) from the rest of the stamp on soaking. Its best if you could simply retain them on paper. Why risk damage to really fine stamps.
Thanks Silvermirror.

I recently purchased used copies of USA Scott# 3412 and 3413 online, but both stamps arrived on piece. I would like to soak the stamps if possible to remove the paper, but I would also like to avoid damaging the stamps. Does anyone know if soaking these stamps would be a good idea? At what point did USPS begin issuing stamps that cannot be soaked using water?
I also seem to remember hearing that soaking these stamps will damage the holograms. Is this true? If so, is there any way to avoid this?
re: Does anyone know if the 2000 USA Space stamps (Scott numbers 3409-3413) can be soaked off paper?
