Do the sachets normally have air bubbles or was this overheated on it's journey to me?
I wrote to the seller and asked about it and three days later I have no response. Do I just give him poor feedback or do I complain to eBay?
The rest of the Insta-tector was in new condition and very nice but if the sachet is ruined or defective that makes it fairly useless to me. Any help here is appreciated!

If it was damaged during shipping, the seller has no control over how the postal services handle the package.
I do not use the mechanical watermark detectors. Had one (not the one you have) in the past and didn't like it. Someone here will be able to answer your question about the sachet, but be aware that the sachets do wear out, and you will have to buy another one eventually.

You are correct Michael, it is not the seller's fault if something happens in transit. My father runs a store that sells coins and jewelry and if something is damaged in transit, he asks for it back and gives a full refund. But everyone runs their business their own way and I'm okay with that. All I asked the seller was if it is normal for the sachet to have air bubbles. I didn't complain nor did I ask for a refund. I asked the question because I have never owned this product before and it could be completely normal. It irritates me that he can not take the time to answer a simple question but really all I want to know is, do the sachets normally have air bubbles? Hopefully someone can tell me and I can decided what to do from there.
After this experience though, I probably will stick with lighter fluid or watermark detectors as you do!

lol.... I understand. Your seller in Poland could have limited English skills too. All that they normally have to do is pack and ship.
I don't use lighter fluid, though. It takes too long to dry for me.

I'm a little late getting in on this, but I can tell you that the sachets do often get air bubbles in them; it does not detract from their functionality, however - just gently rub them out with your finger...i.e. 'smooth' the sachet out and it will function fine!

I received an insta-tector as a birthday present on Saturday (my birthday was yesterday but Saturday was the only day the family could spend together....not that this is the point of my post). It was a fabulous gift and I was thrilled my family is embracing my hobby but I had an issue. The sachet has a large air bubble in it. If I push it to the side of the sachet it is over 1/4" wide and the length if the side of the sachet. The Insta-Tector came from a Polish seller on eBay. So here are my questions:
