we got us a great website, so i'm all for it. wonder how Tim looks in gold?
So, I filled in the application form. It was very simple really, just the club name and APS affiliate number, my name and contact info and that was about it. Judging starts June 1st and goes to July 15th. For those who are interested, click here for the scoring sheet which gives the scoring criteria.
Thanks Alyn for bringing it to our attention.
Regards ... Tim.
I see that many of the improvements we've seen here over the past year are spot on for what the judges will be looking for. I don't think some of the judging criteria are present on the site. Seems to be more the appearance, information provided and ease of use of the site than what the users are doing that will be what is judged.
I agree Michael. The judging criteria are setup to cover organizations (like us), stamp shows and organization that are having stamp shows. They have criteria to cover all three. It will be interesting to see how we go and who our competitors are.
Tim.
I think we look pretty darn good too!
Competitors? SOR has competitors?
I say NOT. It's a one and only!

Let's not have our egos carry us to glory: it's when we think we're terrific that problems arise.
Let's compete, but if we don't capture any awards we can learn from our participation and perhaps make some improvements to Stamporama.

I agree John. I'm looking at this competition as a bit of fun for us, but more importantly a good way to promote the hobby. And hopefully, we'll learn something in the process. I'm always looking for ways to make Stamporama better.
Regards ... Tim.

Thanks Bob,
I agree with you I think SOR should have been awarded a Gold. It would be interesting to see what the official Score Sheet says about the site.

Congratulations to all winners in this competition. I think Stamporama is in very good company. Bob and Alyn, thanks for bringing us the results. I was wondering how we faired in this competition.
Regards ... Tim.
I agree, Tim - we are in good company on that list of winners.
I do have a question;
are we considered a chapter or just an affiliate? I've never heard if we have ever applied to be a chapter club.....
Randy
we are affiliate 242. Our acceptance as an affiliate was one of the personal highs for Jerry, our founder.
I just received our medal and posted it on the home page.
Tim.
yeah us: Tim for all the structural work, all the writers for their articles, and all others who contribute thoughts, questions, answers, images, and new ideas. and to all those who came before and helped launch us and transform us.

I just read the April APS Member news letter and found out that there will be a chapters and affiliates website competition. I think that we should enter, based on the information there is no cost to enter. What do you think?
More information can be found here: http://stamps.org/CAC/cac_wsa.htm
