I just received my CSN this afternoon and was delighted to see Stamporama mentioned. I have to admit it was a rather strange article though.
The author is a Stamporama member and states that he quite enjoys the club and especially likes the auction. And he also puts a plug in for us being one of the oldest Internet clubs (which is true, after all!)
But the final third of the article is a little strange. He gets going on this "I'm old and don't understand these new fangled Internet terms" riff. Like "Thread" or "Tab" or "Login" or "URL". One assumes he understands terms like "Perforation" or "Watermark" or "Hinge" when he's browsing the auction.
I wish he did understand URL because it would've been nice to include one in the article. www.stamporama.com that is.
I recently resubscribed to CSN so have only read a small handful of articles by Mr. Tonge. I think his articles are supposed to be funny, or at least light hearted. I suspect the "new fangled Internet" riff is the funny bit and he actually knows how to use the site.
I love the irony, however. This club started with email and a Microsoft Word newsletter and I remember our founder Jerry struggling with the technology. He used to mail paper copies of the Rambler to people because they didn't have email (and it Rambled! I'm sure some issues topped 40 pages!) I remember the angst we went through when we stopped the paper copies. Hard to believe it was over 15 years ago now.

PS -- To be fair, in the article Mr. Tonge states that he went away for three weeks and had 154 emails from Stamporama. I didn't know I could get email updates from the site. So he's certainly smarter than me!
Good morning all,
Last night I was reading my latest Canadian Stamp News and there was an article on Stamporama in it. I forgot the paper on my dash out the door for work this morning but I will provide a summary later today or tomorrow.

<edited> for grammar.
