Very nice KG. Thank you for sharing with us :)

Thank you Liz!
You were very quick to say hello.
It must be early in the day on your side of the world.
We are ready for bed, a big week to come.
Thanks again Liz. From John and Family
A bit more of Australiana!
It is very easy to post an image here. Someone really got it together.
Question- Is the image size posted always the same? KG5
Hi John,
The images that you post in the Discussion Board are not automatically resized, but there is a max sized image that you can post, about 350KB. The limit is imposed because larger images just don't display well on the screen. I hope it is OK with you, I made a small correction to the image definition that you had in your membership profile so that it displays correctly in the Discussion Board. I suspect the images that you posted, which all look great by the way, are all the same size on your computer.

Stamporama Webmaster.
Thanks Tim.
These maxicards can be 420KB to 320KB after photobucket.
When I get some time I will try a single stamp.
It should look great here. John
I like these maxicards with the stamp as a FDI on a card of the same theme and a cancel that fits the theme as well. Simple description of a maxicard. I think you call them something different in the USA area. And maybe the USA has only made 5 or 6 of them?
The stamps that are top of the list for me to collect are the Australia King George V side face definitive issues of 1914 to 1935.
How for a big week of listing and packing. Hope to get a bit of spare time. KG5
Another question on images!
Maybe I need to start with an image that is scanned 1st at 300 DPI instead of 600 DPI, which is my normal, and then put it through photobucket, as I can see others have nice size images in other posts? John.
John,
Those are beautiful and thanks for sharing them with us. It is also nice that a brand new member jumps right in here on the discussion board, which doesn't happen too often.
Welcome to SOR.
Mike
For the Stamporama auction I scan at 200 dpi using 'Irfanview' and then reduce the size of the picture to fit on the Stamporama website. This seems to work o.k. for me.
Those maxi-cards are really nice. I've never seen maxi-cards before but they are not one of my collecting interests.

Trying images at 200 dpi and images below 350 KB with 500 x 358 sizing.
Using the Song Birds collection. A very nice set.
Any comments on images gratefully received. John
Thank you all for the welcome. There must be a lot more people out there or we have a lot of lurkers. lol John
All the size of the images above have been made larger and scanned properly.
All of the comment were very true before the changes had been made.
Thank you to everyone for their help to get me on track with my scanning and posting of images. KG5
John,
Those are nice Maxi Cards. I looked at the image properties (right clicked on the picture) and they are showing up as 160 x 115 pixels.
It seems like they are thumbnail images for a bigger image.
Great images none the less.

Australia's Favourite Stamps. 2009

Australia Post Workers 2009. What is the lady with the pen in her hands going to do with it. I hope it is not to cancel mail. lol. I wonder which worker is the truck driver and wood chip operator. lol. Good on them they are probably all hard workers.
An issue that would not be everyone's cup of tea. But I really like this issue. It is good for the young and for the young at heart:) John.
Australian Indigenous Paintings.
The first images that I would like to share are a favorite. Australia's Simpson Desert in full new growth and the flood waters from Northern Aust that travel 1000's of miles to empty into Lake Eyre at the bottom of the Simpson Desert. I worked in this country for nearly 4 years and I saw the last time the desert was in full growth and then never thought I would ever see it again. How special is that? My welcome to all.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I do!
Always Happy Stamping. KG5
