I have other hobbies besides stamp collecting but often my hobbies cross paths in mysterious ways. I was at a hunting and fishing equipment auction looking for a new fly rod and an unlisted stamp album just happen to be available. Needless to say it was an easy and cheap win.

Per the Hipwader website....

Adams Dry Fly
If ever there was a dry fly that needed no introduction, it is the Adams fly. This American fly pattern (designed by Len Halladay of Michigan in 1922 at the request of his close friend Charles Adams) was believed to have originally been a down wing pattern that more closely imitated a caddis. Regardless of it origins, the Adams dry fly is considered by many anglers to be the best dry fly pattern ever conceived.

In the album I found several interesting items but I think this one is a gem. The daughter is recording the story which is tied to the trout stamp ad the grand-daughters fishing licence.

Pretty cool, Michael!

...I'm a fishing enthusiast myself...as far as my collecting connection, I'm heavily into revenues, including state and local fishing stamps.

Great find!
