Hi Everyone,
One of the projects that I'm working on is a rewrite of the Discussion Board so that it is all written in the same technology as the rest of the website and has the same look and feel as the rest of the website, sharing the same security. If you logon in one area of the website, you won't have to logon again to use the Discussion Board.

There are many enhancements that I'm adding to this rewrite. One example is, you will be able to upload an image and place it in the middle of a posting, and see the result before you post the message.

So here is my question for you all. I'm changing the way formatting tags work to a much more standard and simple method. For example, an image tag will not be:

\image {image file name}

as it is today, which continually causes problems, it will be:

[image]image file name[/image].

Currently I have included tags for :

Bolding [b]something[/b]
Italics [i]something[/i]
Link to a web page [link]http://stamporama.com[/link]
Image [image]/upload/1282765423.jpg[/image] or
[image]http://photobucket.com/.....[/image]

Now, I'm not trying to include all the power of HTML, and I'm not allowing actual HTML (for security reasons), but is there other particular tag functionality that you would like to include. I'm not promising anything, but as usual, I'll try to include your requests and ideas.

Regards ... Tim.

Computer speak and Wizard's tongue-always leaves me with a headache. My faith in our resident Wizard remains strong-may he live long and prosper.Whatever he sees to be done will all be to the good-how else could it be?

The Wizard has given me a headache as well. The "e" motion of Dan has been seconded....

Dear Wizard,

How about a choice of font sizes, e.g. small, regular, large?

Indentation?

Font color?

Harry

P.S. Your proposed changes are great! Anything more is just icing, which my wife tells me I don't need.

Hi Tim

How about:

Line Break

Align centre/Left/right

Header size h1 or h2; h3 etc.

Underline
As Harry says, font sizes would be good, but I would prefer to specify a size.

cheers
