There is no need for that, as far as I see it.
we already have the breadcrumb trail (the links at the top of the page - stamporama discussion board: stamporama club business: etc ) and you can get there really easy by using the "Home" button on your keyboard. "End" will get you to the bottom of the page in the same way. Scrolling is not necessary unless you want to get to a place somewhere in the middle of the page.

My goodness,you learn something new every day. I didn't know that about the Home and the End buttons Jan-Simon. Larry, something else that would achieve the same thing as what you have requested is, when you are finished with the thread that you are reading, press the "Backspace" key. That should take you back to the previous page, which would be your list of threads. If that doesn't work on your computer, hold the "ALT" key down and press the LEFT Arrow key. That will definitely take you back to the list of threads. I find the "Last Day" link on the left of the screen under the Discussion area, very useful for jumping to the postings that have been made in the last 24 hours.

Yep,,all those things work,but if you are like me,and prefer to use the mouse,,two other bottoms to click on,,
last day and internet arrows,back or forward.
Either will return you to the messages you are looking at ,at the moment.
I use the topic and last day bars to read current and or change discussions.

Interesting thread. I wasn't aware of some of these navigation options, and will certainly start using them.
Here's a thought concerning the auction:
I often want to comment on auction lots, or ask questions, in the Auction Discussion part of the Discussion Board. Would it be possible to create a link within each listing which would take you directly to the Discussion Board. Frosting on the cake would be automatic inclusion of the lot number and item description n the subject heading.
As it is now, it's a multi-step process to get to where you can start typing. If it were a simple mouse click I think there would be a lot more discussion about individual lots.

Sorry, Donald, but I don't see how your suggestion addresses my suggestion.
I'd like to have a "Comment on this lot on the Stamporama Discussion Board" button shown within each lot description. Clicking on it would take you directly to the Auction Discussion and a window for a new comment, possibly with the title of the auction lot as the subject. I have no idea if Tim could do that, but I think it would facilitate discussion.

An overlooked option for navigating within a subject,where you may want to look at previous comments where you have to scroll,,,
Click on the mouse scroll wheel,there will appear on your screen a circle with arrows pointing up or down.Move mouse (pointer) up or down and the screen goes in that direction. To go to end or back to beginning,move arrow in that direction.The further from point zero,the faster it scrolls. No need to roll your wheel.
Try it.
edit to add- when you are done,just click the wheel again and option disengages.

Hey! gang! Of course, I'm the computer dummy, here.
had computer for 12 years now and just found out that by hitting "Ctrl+" increases the size of the
print on the screen. (Yes, I know, said i was a
computer dummy.)

Oh my. I've been using computers (Apples) since...about 1982 (and a Radio Shack Colour Computer for a year or two before then). Apple keyboards have a control key, so I tried it with the "+" symbol, and voila, nothing happened. So then I tried the "Command" key, which has an Apple logo on it, and voila, the fonts increased in size! Yay! Now I have two ways to do that (in most of my programs, there are buttons at the top of the screen to click to increase or decrease font size. Thanks, Stampaholic.

I think it would be handy to have a button at the bottom of the threads located just above (or next to) the words, "Add a Message". Clicking on the suggested button would take the reader back to the category (listing of threads) that he's reading. The user could then click on the next thread he/she wants to read. It would eliminate the need to scroll to the top of the page/thread and then click back to the listing. Could something like this be done without a lot of trouble?
