What dpi are you scanning at. I have an old Epson 2400 Model. Scanning postcards or covers at 240 dpi is quicker than I am= it has to wait for me. Scanning stamps at 600 dpi is quite a bit slower but doable. scanning at 2400 dpi you can get a snack.
Are you using any dust removal or color restoration filters? Dust removal at least doubles the length of the scan.

Go to a Staples and try them out so you get some feel for how fast you can get for your price point. Your scans on the boards are very good, by the way.
Buy at your local thrift store!
I spent $18 for a like new hp8710office jet pro (best printer ever) full set of ink.
Anyway, it has a good smart app.
600 dpi scan 7-10 secs (for pre-selectable index card/4x6/ size) for full page 20 secs!

I've been using the basic Canon. Takes good pics, but waiting to scan back and front of stamps has me twidling my thumbs.
Are there any fast ones out there that don't break the bank?
re: Scanners.....anyone know of something quick?
