I've actually purchased a couple of postcards from Goldpath... guess his AI glitched. haha
David,
Yeah, 100%. He lists ALOT of great items and he seems to be an "old school eBayer" where he actually uses the auction feature and let's the market decide the price. Seems like everyone else on there wants to set the price at some steep number with a "make offer" button.
yes, he generally starts all at a buck; but I don't mind make an offer options: most of my offers are accepted, and I am no longer shy about making subbasement offers
I'm checking out his items now. His descriptions are so vague, bargains must be there to be found (including a birth-date cover for my birth-date collection!)
I'm sure the auction versus fixed price discussion belongs elsewhere, but I sell fixed price and accept reasonable offers. I accepted a $405 offer on a $450 stamp today. If I'd listed it at $1, I'd never have found that buyer
I can delete that bit if you like, I know I strayed off the path.
I'm still checking his listings and have made some bids. I guess he's trying to use AI to improve his listings.
I despise auctions! I know what I want, and I know what I'm willing to spend. To see a coveted cover or stamp, bid on it, and then be outbid in the last second is...there is no collection of words I can print here! Seems to me there should be value in being the first to see an item and buy it. If auctions are so great, why not sell everything by auction? We'd all starve of both stamps and food!
Bob
You are so lucky, Bob. Your wish has been granted and was always here. You just needed to click your heels together..... oh, wait.
Many auctions, and almost all of mine, as you know, feature BIN, which allows viewers to do exactly what you lust after.
AI is a tool only as good as the QC that follows it
