What I think has happened is that the catalog editor failed to notice that the picture of the stamp in question was not a coil stamp. Coil stamps of that design were issued afaik.
Hi Kira, here are scans of the set which may help. At the back of Unitrade there is a lisiting of all the definitive sets which is very helpful regarding coils etc.
Edit, I have just noticed that the Burrowing Owl stamp described as a coil is perforated all around, so will have to check my Unitrade again and also Scott.
Strange.

OK, mystery solved, it is a coil but was done on a backing paper. If you go to the notes after the listing for 2714, there is a visual and description. So if you have a mint strip of 6 or more you can see the coil number.

I know this stamp had a backing sheet but there were coils done that were perfed all around, for example, some of the early Ireland coils!
ah thank you sheepshanks for the information
i placed it in the coils section then... it seems weird but if this is where it goes so be it

Hi Kira, looks like you have a few gaps, I have some spares so if you would like to message me with a list of what you are missing, I'll see what I can find.
PS, love the French sevens.
sheepshanks: yay
i saw that others (like tennisman and betyar68) are using google sheets to create their want list...
that is a very very good idea.
i have been working to create my own want stamp list and i have shared it online here
at i write this i completed 2010 to 2024
this is a lot of work but makes for a much easier way to track missing stamps
for recent years i have been using the stampworld site for the numbers because my 2024 unitrade catalog does not go further than may 2023
thanks

in my 2024 unitrade catalog on page 512, the baby wildlife definitives show the $1 stamp with perforations on all sides...
but lists the stamp in the coils section
is this an error?
did they put the incorrect stamp there or is stamp #2710 really called a coil, even though if has perforations all over?
