I don't know, Kira; doesn't look like a post production goof. I collect coil ends, which appear different on one side of the perfs than any other. But I know nothing about Canadian production.
I applaud you for asking; maybe we both learn something
Good question!
I am not a crazy perf expert! (There are some members here who are...)
That cut looks clean.
One time I soaked off of paper, a non-valuable modern Canadian Stamp, it tore just like that, so my guess is human defect!

If it is your only copy, keep it for a place holder until a better one comes along;
If you already have a good copy, maybe someone on here or that you know might like to have it.
ok i will start an envelope with odd stamps
thank you for the replies
I am wondering if the ink jet postmarks are responsible? Canada started to use them.
mr macco, what do you mean be ink jet postmarks?
i also found another stamp that seems to be damaged
the bottom does not have any performations

That stamp looks like the bottom stamp from a booklet pane so may not be damaged.
No, please keep. It most likely is the 'end' stamp from a coil roll of stamps.
If you don't want it, I'd love to have it Kira.
"If you don't want it, I'd love to have it Kira."

the upper right of this stamp is missing
i am going to trash it but before i do i just want to make sure this is indeed a human caused defect
right?

re: to the recycle bin, right?
