I'm sure I'm a glutton for punishment as I was trying to sort the 50c varieties.
Scott#267. sadly although they mention that there are 4 varieties, with differences in the "c" of cents and the lines below the belt, they do not illustrate the differences.
If someone can show an image of the 4 I would be much obliged. I think I have them all, but not sure.
A search of the web does not want to help.
I have also searched stamporama and apart from a mention back years ago, no images.

Here is an image of what I think to be the four varieties.

in order of stamps left to right.
1. Blob on upper end of arm of c
2. No blob, short arms on c
3. No blob, long arms on c, single line below belt buckle.
4. No blob, long arms on c, two lines below belt buckle.

I don't know if the descriptions of the French Y &T and Ceres catalogues will help, but this is how they describe the variations.
A bit fuzzy...I am having some focus issues with my iphone.

Y&T:

Ceres:

It seems more complex than just 4 variations.
good luck:

Thank you, that helps a lot, think I may have them all, will have to recheck all my spares. Would be easier on mint stamps.
