what gauge do you use?
I will look into this some more.
I use both the Unitrade/Unisafe and the Ideal.
Thanks!
There are some early 20th century U.S. with two different perfs on the same stamp and can run either direction, but I don't know why this would be. I would say that it is possible with some early issues but not common.
According to Michel there is no 12 x 11.5 perforation.
Probably the measurement is not correct.
Nearest would be 11.5 x 11,the cheapest perf.
Possibly perf.11.75,somewhat more expensive.
Here are pix on the gauges. Bottom is 12, sides 11 1/2, possibly 11 3/4? I find no references to these perfs, hence the reason for my post. Thanks again for all the input! Leif

DOH! Am I really that old & confused? I've been thinking the 12 of 11 1/2 x 12 was the vertical edge. I was just told the 1st perf number is the vertical edge. (!). If this is correct my pix clearly identify the stamp as an 84b. Am I now correct? (sorry for the confusion - hope it's not contagious!)
Hello all, switching to Switzerland. This looks like an 84b - large numerals, watermark 182, type 2 - but the perfs are 12 x 11 1/2 instead of 11 1/2 x 12. Is it common to flip the perfs or might this something of an oddity?
Thanks! Leif
