A wonderful collection, you have Joe!

What I'm going to do is take each series of "King" coils and pick up line pairs, paste up pairs, one precancel / stamp, jump strips, etc. I have some already but lots more exist! It's not a super valuable collection, but fun to look for!!

I know these are not coils but I posted these a few weeks ago in EFO 2 and they were soon overwhelmed and I don't think they were seen by many people. If I am wrong just ignore the pictures.

Hers's the weeping princess variety of Scott #211, 211i. It's pretty small but you should see it!! It's a little black mark under the eye and, according to Unitrade, the book value for the block of 4 with the three normals is about $125 to 200 depending on condition. This is MNH with what looks like original gum.

Thanks, but there is no need since I reduced them anyway to put them here. You can see what you need to see!

This might help a little bit but the mark is starting to smudge a bit.
Much better image. thanks

No problem, but to me it doesn't seem to help at all.
Common sense says other wise, but again thanks!!!

Here is a very odd paste up strip consisting of two different war tax coils! The darned thing loaded sideways even though it is on my computer right side up. It really doesn't matter to me but I'm sure there will be objections. It is two copies of MR7 joined to two copies of MR7a, one is brown and the other yellow brown. In Unitrade it is given the code MR7v. It's a bit of an oddity and a nice item, in my opinion!
If anyone out there knows how to rotate this right side up I would be most grateful!!

Rotated, enlarged.

Thanks Vic, this happens sometimes! I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked!

I think I showed this before but, if it's real, it's quite the item. The seller assured me it was fine and I've dealt with him several times with fantastic results. There is no certificate but under a good magnifier it seems to be tied to it's piece. I also like the Liverpool postmark since it's my home town. If you've seen it before please ignore the post!

EDIT: Even if the bisect of NS#3 is bogus the stamp it is with more than satisfies me value wise and I'm positive the used NS #4 is fine. If anyone is new to this sort of thing the two stamps make up a value of 7.5 pence which must have been the amount needed!
Nice

Thanks, I hope so!! But it is very easy to fake a bisect and tie it in. The complete #4 seems fine since, even though it is hard to see here, it is on lightly blued paper as it should be!

I have a comment about line pairs in some earlier Canadian coils. This sort of explains, I think why some of the lines seem a bit "fuzzy".
"On coils of the Arch Issue and the Medallion Issue a line of colour appears between the end stamps of the two plates because ink would build up in the recesses between the two plates". They call these line pairs but they seem to be different from what others call guide lines. The also explain jump strips because the adjacent plates are often not perfectly aligned, which makes sense. They also comment on the fact that sometimes the stamps on either side of the two plates are sometimes closer together which also shows up in coil strips from this period. They say this happens on coil strips before 1967 when printing methods were changed and improved.
I'm not really asking a question here, just passing this on!
I think I have all of the varieties for this coil series - cock - eyed King, line pairs or strips, Paste up strips, jump strips and basic precancels! It's just for display, I really don't feel like explaining what everything is at this point. For some reason I really like the varieties you get with coils!! I know some people don't like putting stuff like this on the page with the regular stamps but I like having it all in one place. It's not a valuable page but I like the effect!! There's a little glare in the bottom left corner but nothing major. Catherine isn't quite as good at this as my regular person.
