I really wish I could help but thankfully my wife and I decided to stay away from florescent papers and types of gum. You need a black light for sure to ID the amount of the florescence of the paper. That's tricky because you need to judge how florescent it is and that comes with experience! I have collected Canada's stamps for over 50 years but stayed away from this part of it. I believe Unitrade discusses the various gums so that might not be too bad! You need to find an expert in these issues to determine the paper variety. Good luck, I wish I could help!!
You made me go to my album to see which one I have. LOL The varieties listed in Unitrade 2023 all relate to the florescence. There is a dull florescence DF, no florescence NF (which I have), low florescence LF, high bright paper HB and another LF variety PVA. I don't know the difference between DEX and PVA.
I see that your block of 4 has a great CV ranging from 25.00 to 125.00 depending on which variety! The two LF varieties have similar CV so I guess that it doesn't matter if it is PVA or DEX. It would be simple to determine by waving a UV lightbar over it. I bought mine years ago I think from iHobb.com. It's battery powered and was inexpensive at the time.
Canada has so many different florescent types that sometimes I turn off the lights and go through the album with the lightbar for fun. The grandkids like that.
Good luck with it!
Any recs on an inexpensive UV light?
I looked on iHobb.com and they seem to be getting out of the stamp supply business and didn't have any UV lights anymore. I did find the one that I have on amosadvantage.com for 14.68. It is powered by 4 AA batteries and has a replaceable bulb. A manufacturer isn't listed and the one that I have isn't marked but I've had mine for 5-10 years and it works fine. I hope that this helps.
Thanks, but their website shows this an on backorder with no estimated date of delivery.
Wizard Coin Supply has a fairly inexpensive UV light (that looks like the one I have) available. They've been a bit more reliable than iHobb in keeping supplies in stock of late.

There are 5 variations of this, but I need some help. Can anyone give me some guidance as to how to ID this block of 4?
