Threads like this, with decent and interesting titles are detrimental to Stamporama, I am sorry to say. I have added a link or two elsewhere but realize I am only adding to the problem.

Please, no more threads like this.

Thank you

Did you enjoy the video, did your learn anything. I enjoyed the video and learned some interesting information!

Hope I can find other interesting videos soon.

Anything you are looking for, if I see it I'll let you know?

Update: If any other members are looking for videos let me know, I don't promise any thing, but I sometimes find videos that are stamps related!

re: The Development of Perforations on U.S. Postage Stamps During the Toppan, Carpenter Era: 1855-1857.

Well, I tried to post the YouTube link to the subject video, but can't seem to get it to work.

If I just post it in plain text, an emoji gets inserted in the link, as below. What's with that? The characters being replaced by the emoji are "X dash X", with a dash instead of the word dash.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NverjyJI Don't Want To SeeI

If I highlight the URL and use the Link button, clicking the resulting link says the video is no longer available.

I>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NverjyJX ...

If I highlight the URL and use the YouTube button, I get a YouTube window, but it won't play. (An error occurred).

So I've tried. Any assistance is welcome. Seems like the URL contains a Stamporama code for the emoji that's messing things up.

tommcf:

I had tried to do the same thing, and I had exactly your same results with both the Link and YouTube features.

I am pretty sure I have used these functions on StampoRama posts in the past, but I am puzzled as to why I can't now. I have asked the Admin to look at the problem and let me know if it is something related to YouTube, StampoRama, or me. Crying

However, I really enjoyed the video. Charles DiComo did a great job of building the narrative and explaining things. It's an advanced area and not many people will have the time and resources to try and collect at this level, but it's also a great opportunity to see what someone can do beyond simply organizing stamps in an album. And I don't even collect stamps.

1899,

We're not having trouble viewing the video on YouTube. The problem is in trying to post the link to the video here.

It looks like the SOR code is messing up the URL. The X - X (spaces added) resolves as an emoji example: I Don't Want To See
