Any idea how the Dover Ohio was doubled?
Starting a new precancel thread since the old one is too slow to load at almost 200 posts.
This is part of my collection of unusual US precancels. I was going to explain each one but I don't think there is any need. I really like the odd ones, the ones that are not just bars and words. The only normal looking one is from the UN and I included that because the UN only precanceled that one stamp, I think!!
I also included a red one, a couple diagonals and a double strike, both fairly common. I also have many that are upside down but that is also very common. The second one in the first row is a Shermack coil. I have four of them and all say Chicago. I have a few red precancels and a few violet, they seem to usually show up on black stamps. I usually put this sort of material in my album next to the regular stamp, it sort of jazzes up the page, at least that's my opinion!!
