Live too far away, but do let me know how the youth booth goes!
I'm in charge of the youth booth at our show in spring of '26
I know you do Ari. I also know that if you lived close enough you'd be there too or I'd take you along with me with your parents blessing of course.
I will post about the results of the attendance and youth/newcomer booth participation. There are over 600 APS members who live within a 150 mile radius of the venue. I know of one SOR member who will be in attendance other than me. He is our stamp club president. If he reads this post. Let him introduce himself. In fact he is one of our newest members within the past couple of months.
I know that there are some more SOR members who live within that radius too and I'll be disappointed if none of you show up. You all know who you are.

The show date is coming up fast. I will be there and hope to see some of you there too.

The show was an educating experience since it was my first one I ever attended. Not a real big turn out of people but I did get to meet a couple of SOR members in person which was real nice to talk to kindred spirits. There was only one child in attendance and I loaded him up with philatelic freebies. It was enough to fill a small a UHAUL box and that made my day. It was refreshing to see a child's eyes light up and realize there is kindness in the world. That was the highlight of my day. I went there with 3 boxes of donations and left with only half of one.
Aside from the one child who I got to spend some time with and teach what I know about the hobby. The rest of the donations went to 9 other new collectors and some novice collectors who were acting just like children discovering something new. I had a blast!!!
The donations came from myself and one of our very one SOR members. You know who you are. A cover exclusive to the show is coming your way. Thank you so much for the generosity.
I got to share with everyone who gave me the time of day to listen and see the historical covers that I had on had from my own collection and the donated ones. They all were very impressed especially with the patriotic cover from the civil war era. They all got to learn to keep tape of any kind 20 feet from a stamp collection or to even to try and repair an especially rare cover. The other cover that brought the most interest was from the announcement of the return of Admiral Halsey's return of his 3rd Fleet from the Pacific Theater docking in the Los Angels harbor to the end of the war.
That is enough for tonight. It"s Miller Time.

Sounds like you had a good show!
I had someone do something just as nice for me at FLOREX!
He handed me $20, and said "Kid you seem to like the hobby, go get something you could use!"
I never forgot that.
Looking forward to FLOREX, and my next club auction!
