I've never shown these before and thought it would be a good idea. At the bottom of one of the pages is a set of 5 imperforate small queens that are really trimmed jumbos I mentioned in another post. They have no real value but are interesting to see. On another page is a collection of precancels that I will expand later, hopefully. There are a few gaps, some are fillable, some are definitely not. If I can squeeze out another 10 years I should be able to fill about half of them. You can forget about #32 since only three exist so far. It's an interesting three pages that have taken much time and effort over the last 50 years!! I show things like this hoping people are interested. I am complete with all Canada stamps shown in my book from #33 to my 1988 cutoff except for a few varieties. Obviously because of #32 I can't go further back!! The first page has two example of what is called "abklatsch" or complete off set printings.

I have a spectacular Newfoundland "abklatsch" that I showed a while ago. I got this from an SOR dealer and it's one of my favourite Newfoundland pieces!! Pictures show front and back! The explanation of how these total offsets come about is rather complicated, I think it's explained in another post that I can't seem to locate right now!

@Harvey

Question: Printed on gum side? Is the offsett under the gum or on ttop of the gum?

Under the gum. From what I remember the sheet was printed normally and than the gum was put on the printed side over the image. If I am wrong I'm hoping someone will correct me. Many stamps for this number must have been done this way since the stamps are fairly cheap - in the $25 range. Unitrade does not give a release number!
EDIT: Can you imagine the average stamp buyer picking this up and getting really ticked off that he/she couldn't get it to stick to the envelope!! Probably a lot got thrown away or returned to the post office!! Watch this short clip from The Simpsons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6adZ7jQF ...

They don't say how many of this particular stamp were released, or produced!

re: My collection of Canada small Queens (also ABKLATSCH)

I've almost finished my collection of Canada's numbered precancels (one left - Paris, Ontario) and have one more affordable named precancel left (New Westminster and I'm not going to bother with the 6 really pricey ones) and then I can start on a collection of the different styles of the early "barred only" ones! What I have shows up in the last picture above plus a few newer ones in another part of the album. I only want one of each kind and there's always (I think) at least one cheaper one. Does any Canada precancel collector have a collection they can show? It'd be nice to know if someone else out there collects them! There seem to be 35 types (A to Y and 1 to 10) and some seem to be difficult to tell apart!!
