It's a revenue stamp, not a postage stamp, so it is not listed in Scott or Stanley-Gibbons or Unitrade Canada. I'm sure that there are some Stamporama members who can be more specific.

Canada 1915 Revenue
Used on commercial banking related paper, luxury tax etc.
van Dam revenue catalog #FWT8
one of the commonest revenue stamps because of its use on checks.

Thank You Bob and Roy!

I'll post a picture of a selection of Canada war tax revenue stamps I have. It is nowhere near complete, especially with the overprints, but it'll give you an idea what's out there. I don't have them numbered even though I do have van Dam's book for Canada's revenue stamps! The 2 cent booklet pane is nice!
EDIT: I'm only going to try to get one of this type for each denomination. If you have one that I am missing please send me a message!!

I'll also down load me page from my album with the regular war tax stamps. Some are special. The ones on the right side of the page with diagonal overprints are a bit hard to find. The strip on the bottom is a fairly scarce pasted up strip of two different coils, die I and die II, of the 2 cent brown, MR7 and Mr7a, Unitrade calls it MR7v. It's a nice page, at least I like it! I didn't realize how many of these I have used instead of mint! There is an extra copy of MR2D if anyone is interested - good for a trade!

Just a quick comment! If anyone is interested in my spare used copy of MR2D let me know and we'll work something out. I really have no interest in keeping spares, never had, never will. A friend of mine collects local material and there is a certain Codd bottle he likes, from the Milton Aerated Water Works. I have one with a very rare label that he covets, it's his in my will! He has 30 bottles already and every time he sees one he buys it. Most have no labels and are to my eye identical. I ask him why he collects that way since they are pricey. He has no idea!!!
Note: Codd bottles are the ones with a marble in the top as a stopper, invented by Hyram Codd in 1872, nothing to do with fish! They are relatively rare since children would break the tops off to get the marble! I know very few of you really care about this piece of information, but what the heck!! Below is a picture of my bottle. I have only ever heard of one other with this label being sold. There is one that is more rare, unique, a label saying Bear River Cherries!

Edit:If you run into one of these at a local flea market let me know!! The picture is from a NS museum!

I can't seem to find a listing for the brownish stamp at the bottom of the picture. Any help appreciated.
