It is not German But Danish 4s Brown
Difficult to tell which type as the postmark obliterates id.
The stamp is not in the best condition with nibbled corners and poor margins.
Usually in the Danish area, a collector told me that those numerals in the center of the ringed-cancel mean the post offices district.
That one should be in central Denmark.
Any thoughts?
Assuming this was canceled during the original allocation of numerals, 113 corresponds to Altona. In 1864, 113 went to Haslev.
awsome replies!
indeed Altona 20/2 1860 post mark on envelope as well
mystery solved
Altona was controlled by Denmark until 1864. It's so close to Hamburg, that today, it is considered a neighborhood of Hamburg.
Before Denmark lost Altona to Prussia, it was Denmark's second-busiest port.

Fun fact: The place name "Altona" is said to be derived from the North German expression "all to nah", i.e. "much too close" - at least it was so in the eyes of the Hamburg city council. The two settlements were busy for centuries quarreling about the use of the river, pasture rights, coinage, religious and business affairs and what not. It took until 1740, a hundred years after Altona had been inherited by the Danish crown, to resolve the disputes.

Let's dot the I's and cross the T's, I believe that the stamp picture is Scott #7
This is a fraction of the first page of my Danish collection, there's quite a difference between numbers 4 and 7.

Nice Danish set Tony!

There's some wonderful stamps there!!! How do you keep track of what's what? If I didn't use an album I would be totally confused! It must be the math teacher in me but everything has to be IDed with a number! We are all different and that's a good thing.
@Harvey
I make spreadsheets, but I agree albums are great.
For my Air-Mail set i put a teensy tiny piece of paper next to each stamp, since they are in a stockbook!

I used to use albums, many years ago, but I realized that I needed too many stamps to complete any country so when my collection became too big I needed a way to organize my stamps in order to move them around so vario or similar pages were the solution, I went through the mounts stage as well. I have my stamps basically, and I say basically because I use the Scott cat. in chronically order and leave empty spaces for the missing stamps in hope that some day I may get that elusive stamp. Although I do not specifically collect varieties, I do have many and a basic stamp is good enough for me.

Claims Schleswig but I cannot find a similar image
