I'm not an expert, just a shade tree stamp collector!

I found this on you tube, I was interested to see if there was anything on double transfer stamps.

I'm asking for experts here what they think. Seems to me this could be used to dress up an album page (if you make your own album page)?

What do you think?

It's really quite simple, and there are instructions posted in the "General" tab at the top of each page, select it, and find the entry "Formatting Msgs" in the dropdown list. Read them carefully. Practice a little. You have the ability to preview your post before you submit it.

I should have clarified my previous post better.

The SOR instruction page I was directing you to read has information on how to make use of the more complex features that help you edit your posts, and make your posts more functional.

My post had nothing to do with the ""Inage Transfer" function in your video. However, most graphics programs have this capability. A good tutorial on that skill is certainly helpful to a novice who wants to learn how to do that.

I did view the video you referenced, but I did not find it particularly clear in its instructions. That may be because I do not use Photoshop, which can be expensive for some collectors. There are other inexpensive or "free" shareware graphics/image packages that allow one to do the same thing, and I am sure there are other videos that describe the process for users of many different image packages.

Anyone who wants to do basic and intermediate operations on images should consider the videos on YouTube and elsewhere for tutorials on how to help them learn to do new tasks.

Thank you.

My mistake.

Do you think an image transfer usage could be used to dress up an album page?

I do not use an album anymore, but wanted to pass on something a member might find useful?

Well, this is sorta scary. One more reason to get expensive items authenticated.

Absolutely. Virtually all postal history collectors I know use this or a similar technique to illustrate and/or clarify the markings on a cover they are describing, either for their album or an exhibit page.

Fancy cancel collectors will often do something similar by extracting the cancel or other marking to add it to a more complete image of their marking.

There are many techniques for doing this, and most collectors have their own approach. It's much like the choice of album pages for organizing stamps.

Everyone has their own personal approach, and we all believe our approach is the best. That's what makes this hobby fun. Thumbs Up

re: YouTube Image Transfer

This video provides instructions for preparing fraudulent documents by transferring official stamps from one document to another. Unfortunately YouTube does not seem to have a policy against instructional videos for committing fraud.
