re: Netherlands mystery stamps

These are postage due stamps. The one in the middle is Nvph #P12 from 1881, c.v. 35 euros. The one on the right is a provisional overprint from 1910. Nvph #P27, also at 35 euros the one on the left is the top value from the 1921-1938 set, P79 and it has minimal value.

"Te Betalen" = To Pay i.e. Postage Due

Look in the "J" numbers section of a Scott Catalog, behind the regular and airmail issues.

re: Netherlands mystery stamps

Thanks. I knew they were postage due but couldn't find in Scott. But now in the Scott Specialized I see them. Even had the middle one in my collection but it was so badly canceled I couldn't see "EEN". Sometimes I'm really "thick" brain-wise. So now I'm much better informed thanks to all of you. Kent
