I contacted them this morning about the same problem. I received the exact same reply. The stamps listed in the New Issues update aren't exactly new anymore. Several countries are only listed every 9 to 12 months. I was told that sometimes they have problems getting information from the issuing countries. I have noticed that other catalogs such as Stampworld, Michel, NOK and Yvert & Tellier have them listed quite promptly.
I found their response to the situation as evasive rather being up front from the beginning. There may be more to the story.
I had let my subscription elapse and so far do not miss it.
No one can afford to send out those gorgeous, glossy hobby mags. They can't do it.
I would have no problems with the digital issue if they would keep the new issues fairly current.
The printed version of the Scott Specialized is shown as "On Backorder - No estimated Rcv Date". I usually order one for my dad for Christmas. The printed version is $111 and the digital annual subscription is $109.99 and at the end of the period you own nothing.
The American Stamp Dealer & Collector monthly magazine is a great.publication.
Better than Scott monthly was, IMO.
I agree with you, I look forward to both 'The American Philatelist' and 'The American Stamp Collector & Dealer'. The articles in the Scott Stamp Monthly have improved in both topic and quality in the last year, which only adds to my disappointment. I know that I have access to the digital additions; but find that I like to use my reading as an opportunity to decompress from technology.
It seems ironic to be that two non-profit organizations can accomplish what a for-profit one cannot.
I hope it is not a sign of future issues and the stamp collecting supplies side of the business.
I'm sure all subscribers have seen it now. I received an E-Mail giving an explanation of what the problems were and what will transpire down the road.

December 2, 2024
Dear Stamp Subscribers and Advertisers,
Earlier this year, a business dispute arose between Amos Media, Linn's and Scott Catalogues parent company, and our contracted printing partner responsible for producing our coin and stamp publications. Despite repeated efforts to resolve the matter swiftly, the situation persisted for several months.
Please know that this was never an attempt to alter the delivery methods of Scott Stamp Monthly or the Scott Catalogues. Throughout this period, our top priority was to restore printing and delivery of the monthly, and USS and Classic catalogues. In the meantime, these products were made available in digital format to ensure uninterrupted access for our subscribers.
We are pleased to announce that the Scott Stamp Monthly December issue will be mailed during the week of December 16th. Furthermore, the Scott Specialized and Classic catalogues will be mailed sometime in January and February 2025. As these production dates approach, we will be in touch with more details on timing. Pre-orders will be honored and filled in the order they were received.
Regarding the unprinted September, October, and November monthly issues:
• For Subscribers: we will extend print subscription expiration dates proportionately to account for this disruption.
• For Advertisers: we will extend a 30% rate discount for those printed ads in the form of a credit towards future ads to account for this disruption. A 5% rate discount will be credited for Scott Specialized and Classic catalogues.
We deeply regret any inconvenience or loss of trust this situation may have caused. As we prepare to celebrate our 149th anniversary in 2025, we remain committed to providing the trusted information collectors rely on in the ever-evolving field of philately. Thank you for your patience and loyalty as we continue to guide and serve the stamp community into the future.
Sincerely,
The Linn's and Scott Team
They could have said this much earlier but still did not dispell the rumor about cash flow issues.
I received my December, 2024 Issue in the mail today.
I received by issue in the mail today. Hope this is the beginning of a turnaround for Amos Media.
I am very disappointed in the way Amos Media has handled the current situation with The Scott Stamp Monthly. The last hard copy issue I have received was the August issue. I have contacted customer service and was told they were working on the production problems back in September. I followed up again by email this week and received a less than satisfactory reply:
"Sometimes the journey isn’t always smooth, and we’re currently navigating some headwinds that have delayed our print production. Due to printer challenges, we’ve had to press “pause” in the arrival of our print issues. Rest assured; we’re doing everything we can to get your magazine to you as soon as possible."
My issue is with the editorial/management staff. Subscribers should have been contacted, at the very least, to be informed of the delay. Obviously with the November issue this makes three volumes. The lack of directness with their customers of an organization that is one of pillars of the hobby in the United States is disappointing at the least. The real test of an organization is how it handles challenges; in this case Amos Media has failed collectors and its own legacy.
