I have been fortunate to have two artists that drew United States Stamps live close by and have events at the local post offices. The first is Stephen B. Hickman who lived one street away from me when he was in Red Hook. I tried to interest him in our stamp club but he was an artist drawing whatever he was commissioned to draw. So he came to the Red Hook post office to commemorate his Space Fantasy stamps and i purchased a booklet which he autographed and also some covers . I just did a google search on him and found that he had passed away on July 11,2021.Image Not Found

For the next artist i had to travel 6 miles South to the Rhinebeck post office. The artist was James Gurney the author of Dinotopia books and artist of The World of Dinosaurs. He was a resident of Rhinebeck at the time..i am not sure if he is still there.Image Not Found
