It is the red orange and the top stamp is oxidized.

Unfortunately I agree with Roy. I only have the orange variety and it looks nothing like either of the pair shown!
Thanks guys. Odd how one would get oxidized and not the other. I have another pair just like it.
It's a lovely classic design.
The middle perfs appear to have been folded so maybe they the pair just spent some time folded over and the upper one was affected by the sun or by fumes in the air?
That would make sense.
Or it was in a stocksheet where the bottom one was mostly covered by the plastic pocket. Note that there is a hint of oxidation at the top of the bottom stamp as well. (the heavily inked portions are a different color at the top of the bottom stamp compared to the bottom of the stamp.)

that makes further sense. think I'll sell them anyway. kinda interesting.
Scott/Unitrade #48, but the different colors puzzle me. #48 is red orange, and #48b is orange. Assuming these are the colors of the two, would they have been issued on the same sheet? I have two pairs of these. Any thoughts?/Users/johnoneil/Pictures/IMG_20240730_0017.jpg
