Thank you all....very helpful. With the Edifil catalogues they seem to be organized around provinces, cities eg Catalonia, Valencia. I haven't been able to determine whether Nationalist and Republican forces each printed their own stamps for general use or were all stamps printed provincially by each side?

I am accumulating Spanish Civil war stamps but have no idea how to identify them. Does anyone have suggestions as to the best catalogue for this area of collecting and where do you go to buy the catalogue? Thanks, Chris
