




These are called revenue stamps. These stamps were issued to be used by companies and individuals in the United States to pay government taxes or fees.
The word Documentary on these stamps means that theywere used to pay for taxes relating to the processing of documents (invoices, wills, checks, etc).
You don't often see these in full and partial sheets.
Not rare, just unusual.

I'm back again with another dumb question. I'm the guy who got some sheets of damaged stamps following the passing of my brother. I'm ignorant of the hobby, but curious as to what these are. I have 4 sheets that are similar to this - some with more stamps, some with fewer. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!
