re: Brazil - Commemorative and Regular Postal Issues 2024

I don't collect Brazil and for most of the areas I do collect I mainly collect classic stamps. Brazil has an amazing postal history since they were the second country to issue postage stamps as we know them in 1843. The first series are almost affordable, at least the 30r and 60r are. With a little patience a price of a few hundred dollars each for average quality stamps might be possible. Maybe one of these days... I don't collect Great Britain either but every serious stamp collector should have a Penny Black, maybe the early Brazil "bulls-eyes" should be the same!! Here's a picture I "borrowed" online - great looking stamps. One of the greatest rarities in the stamp world, at almost $1 000 000, would be a connected pair of the 30r and 60r. These pairs have a name but I can't remember it at the moment. They are possible since the master sheets, before they were separated, contained both stamps. The se-tenant triple shown below sold for about $2.8 million. Great country to collect with an amazing postal history!!
