While browsing through the 'Topical' listings, I did not find a thread specifically concerning Red Cross. I have been collecting stamps commemorating the centenary of the Red Cross in 1963, and the centenary of the Red Cross idea in 1959. The idea of the Red Cross was put forth in 1859, but it was four years later in 1863 that the International Red Cross organization was established. My collection presently contains roughly 550 stamps and souvenir sheets from around the world commemorating these dates. The collection consists of about 160 pages housed in a 3" 3-ring binder. My most recent addition is a set from the Romanian "Government in Exile" which never saw postal usage. There is also a souvenir sheet from the Ukrainian "Government in Exile" on topic.
