The best book to determine if you have a good stamp or a fake stamp, from German States, is the Schloss book. The book shows all the details of what a genuine stamp should have. If your stamp does not have all of the details correct, it's a fake.

German philately abounds with these especially in the Empire and Weimar periods. Here is a nasty one. A well-done Thurn and Taxis fake. Note the shape of the stars and disks.
