S.S. African Glen was the only US ship of the Yellow Fleet, stranded in June 1967 during the Six-Day- War. Her crews were members of the Great Bitter Lake Association, which issued stamps.

The African Glen stamps were issued in sheets. You can see one of them in the GBLA Encyclopaedia and Stamp Catalogue (https://valdpete.blogspot.com/p/great-bitter-lake-association-catalogue.html), my goal is to reconstruct them all. Can anybody provide scans of the other sheets, or at least part sheets? They look like this. Even single stamps could be helpful. They are inscribed either African Glen April 69 Regatta or African Glen 2 years captivity.

The stamps were used on letters, often by Captains. While the GBLA Encyclopaedia names dozens of Captains, I still have a question mark with the African Glen. One source mentioned that Captain Rodriques was on the ship already in June 1967, according another he had arrived only in November 1967. So I would like to ask our US fellows a favor – if you have an access to news agencies or newspapers archives from 1967, could you kindly check who was the master in June 1967 and who and when relieved him, please? Thanks a lot.

If you have a GBLA collection, I would like to hear from you.
