It is hard to soak off blocks of 6-8 without damage. Also the mail handling equipment damages a lot of stamps, so a SS on cover would have maybe a 10-20 percent chance of surviving intact.
That’s a very nice sheet. Are the holes along the left edge real or simulated? If real, are they to be used to put in an album of some kind?
Why would you like to soak it? Isn't better to keep all the stamps together as they came on the envelope, that's what I did with this Star Wars sheet.
Oooh! A turtle!
Sally, I do not have a copy of this MS, so I am not too sure if there are real holes on the left side.
I will try to get one of these, and if successful to get it used, I will have to keep it on piece.
It is a shame 80% of the animal/bird bodies are left in the salvage.
Looking at some of the latest Japanese issues I see some quite attractive miniature sheets. The problem is I do not think one can ever exist in used condition. Even if somehow the whole sheet is transferred on to a cover, it is unlikely it will survive the soaking without the stamps falling off their frames.
Not that this problem is unique to Japanese issues.
