Bob, I'll check through my bunch this evening to see if I can help with any of those gaps. The precancel lot I bought had many from this series!!!
I'll have to check my Scott's specialized to see exactly what they are first!
EDIT: From a quick look at Scott's specialized the ones I looked up seem to be versions that are untagged. I haven't used my black light for so long that I'm not even sure where it is! If I can find it(!!) I'll see if I can help! Sorry!!
Edit#2: I do have a few nice copies of the 17.5 cent Racing Car 1911 and will put one aside for you. Unfortunately I have only one of the 24.1 cent Tandem Bicycle. If you are interested in the 25 cent Bread Wagon, the 32 Cent Ferryboat or the $1 Seaplane I can provide the bread wagon but am missing the ferry boat and only have one Sea Plane.
According to Scott,
11c. 1905a is untagged. There is a note, "untagged stamps from Plate 1 come only from Bureau pre cancelled with lines. Untagged stamps from Plate 2 come both with and without Bureau lines."
12c. 2132b is untagged Type 11 Bureau pre cancelled. Type 11 has the words Stanley Steamer 1909 0.5mm shorter than 2132.
17c. 1906 Untagged Bureau pre cancel.
Hope this helps.
"I think I may use albumeasy and drop the tagged varieties !"
the 17c has 3 different fonts for the overprint. All 3 are untagged.
the 11c exists w/o the bureau double lines and is still considered a precancel.
the 12c comes in 2 diff sizes of the basic stamp. About a 1/3 mm difference between 2132 and 2132b.

Looked at some of mine, found these 3 untagged. There is also quite a difference in height of font between first and rest.
Not sure if this is the difference or not.
This is just a fun collection for me, I'm not even going to worry about Scott numbers and I'm definitely staying away from tagging. All I need to finish the collection, at least for now, is a copy of the Ferryboat and the Lunch Wagon. I'm curious why my specialized catalog gives prices for so many different length strips, seems a bit odd and they also specify which line it's from! If I get more into the series a bit of research is definitely needed!!
Are stamps with the imprints rather than an actual horizontal-line cancel (eg the O5 and 7.1) considered pre-cancels by everyone (or most) who collect that area?
Or is that a personal preference/variation?
Thanks, Dave

Dave,
The PSS recently had a huge debate over this and they were ultimately removed from the bureau precancel catalog and moved to a new one. They are now known as National and Service Inscribed precancels to distinguish them from the city/state type precancels prepared at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. Part of the reason for this was that they are not printed at the BEP anymore, but prepared by various contractor printers, often with minute differences. At any rate, yes, they are considered precancels but they are treated separately from the traditional precancels with printed lines and city/state inscriptions.

This is my Steiner Page for US Transportaion precancels
It shows additional spaces for the following :
the 11 cent
the 12 cent
and the 17 cent
I am curious what the differences are for the missing varieties? Is is a differnt font, the size of the letters or ? I'm not even sure the varieties I have for the other values are correct.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Bob
