Like most here, I am sure, I have been thinking of him since Saturday, hoping and praying for him and his. Anxiously awaiting a posting from him to reassure us all that he is well.
Hi,
I did post in the 'what are you doing apart from stamps' thread after the invasion on Saturday.
But here is an update.
We are OK in our village with extra security and a small group of soldiers. A few explosions can be heard in the distance but our central location means that the terrorists will find it hard to reach us with their rockets.
All the family are together and there is no school so we are all chipping in to help with keeping them amused. Modern technology means that the job is much easier than it would have been 20 years ago ! But we still do puzzles !!!
My daughter and our 7-month old Grandson have come to stay with us while her husband is on reserve duty in the South. That is a worrying part.
Everyone is in shock. Personally I thought I would never be so disgusted and heartbroken when I saw what ISIS were doing in Iraq and Syria. But last Saturday and the days that followed were worse, much worse and it has effected us all.
I hope and pray for an end to it all. But I fear it will not happen in my lifetime.

Keep safe... My prayers for all of Israel.
Hi Lomdon bus
I hope all will be well for you and yours in this terrible time.. We met a couple of years ago at Stampex, when you taliek about cinderellas.
Best - Neville
bus,
good to hear you are ok, stay vigilant.
MK
What an unimaginable tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this horrific event.
Keep yourself and your family safe.
Clive
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
glad you're well and safe, Michael,
we're all shocked and broken-hearted here
Michael pray thatt you and family will be safe. I hate wars. May this end quickly and peacefully.
Terrible what is happening, we are praying for you and your family and that your son-in-law returns safely
Stay safe, Mike. -The events of last Saturday will take their place of dishonor among the entrails of history.
I'll add my hopes for the safety of Londonbus1 and his family. What terrible events, happening in a world that suffers terrible events on a daily basis (but nothing like the Hamas attack, not in my memory).
I am concerned about another Israeli, Eli Moallem, who lives in Jerusalem. He was once a StampoRama member, but is not currently listed in the member database. I went on Stampboards, thinking he might be posting there, and he has been, extensively, although the last posting date I could find was in February of this year. I'm not a member of Stampboards, so I couldn't perform more than a rudimentary search.

Eli Moallem posted on Facebook (which he rarely uses) on September 22nd. He lives in Jerusalem. I do not know him personally but can assume he is OK at this terrible time.
On a philatelic note, I came across his beautiful exhibit of the Kingdom of Laos, a country that I too collected some years ago. It brought back such wonderful memories.

I received an email from Eli Moallem this morning. He says, in part,
"…Thank you for your concern and for contacting me. Indeed, very bad time for Israel with the worst event we ever experienced. Me and my family are relatively safe in Jerusalem and have not suffered from the situation directly. Hope for better days for Israel."
That's a relief. Eli has been an important stamp colleague for me, and was instrumental in my early forays into the stamps of the Viet Cong and the Vietminh. Here are a couple of pages from my Eli-designed albums:
The Viet Cong (the VC) was the military arm of the communist South Vietnamese National Liberation Front (NLF). Its stamps were not valid for postage during the Vietnam War, but some of them could be used in some areas of Vietnam following the war.
The Viet Minh was the name of the communist organization created by Ho Chi Minh in the closing months of the Second World War. The United States armed and trained the Viet Minh soldiers to fight Japanese occupation troops. Viet Minh stamps, initially, were confiscated Indochina stamps overprinted for use in North Vietnam; CTOs are common, but vanishingly few were postally used; North Vietnam had barely survived the war. Potential starvation was of greater concern than mail:
Eli's Viet Cong and Viet Minh album pages are readily available on line. A google search should turn up a few links.
Bob
His pages are excellent reference guides.
Has anybody heard from londonbus1 ?
