Harvey,
You are hardly someone I would call weird, rather sound just like a very normal person to me. If you stop to think about it, what other people think of us is none of our business anyway, it's just their way of thinking!
I did think about calling you for dinner last night, but I couldn't have gotten there in time, since you live in the wild and wooly tundra areas of the great north country and I don't have enough long-johns to wear that far north anyway. I gave up my hand warmers and boot warmers when moving to Florida 50 years ago.
Stay just as you are and just keep them guessing.
Mike

Harvey....are you buying or selling?
John, I only buy! I used to sell on line many years ago but do not want to go there again!!!
MikeyToo: "PS I'm at 139"
Aw, Mikey, don't let your age hold you back.
Harvey, feedback of 500 is a nice accomplishment, especially as that is from 500 different people. Congratulations.

Harvey,
500 feedback is quite an accomplishment to get on ebay! I would not have any problem selling to you! Actually, I am usually pretty comfortable selling to anyone over about 10-15 feedback with no negs. At least I know they have a basic understanding of ebay.
I had to go look at my feedback rating/star color. I couldn't even take a guess at it...2846 and a red star. Got most of the feedback as a seller.
Just for info...I don't sell stamps in my store. I might sell a few excess this winter, but it will be few and far between. Stamps are not part of my surplus biz.
I've never been to Nova Scotia....I may have to come up there for dinner. Just don't be late.
Mike
I just check my feedback on Ebay 783

It does not mean much to me.
On one of the eBay sellers boards they play a feedback game.
I had a little over 2300 and was waiting for 2323 to post. I missed it. So I thought I could post 2333 and over night I got up to 2337! ????
I know some of the feedback numbers make mine look puny but today I got up to 483 - only 17 left to go!! I'm starting to get tense.
Years ago my wife and I used to sell on E-Bay and probably had a few hundred under our handle at the time, Squirreled because our antique shop was called Squirreled Away Antiques!! Those numbers are long gone now or I'd probably be closing in on 1000! I know, to most of you this sounds silly or anal, but "you are what you are"!!
I find the count to be an interesting thing as well and appreciate it. Good fortune as you continue your search for items for your collection!
Only one more to go!!!!
Once I hit #500 there will no further stars to go for! I am a fairly infrequent buyer on E-Bay and there is no way I will ever reach the next level of 1000. It's hard to believe that there is a level that starts at 1 000 000, the Silver Shooting Star! I wonder how many people are in that category!
How much is feedback an issue to a buyer..... my thinking is, one is looking for a specific stamp(s), and looking to get the best deal on the stamp with the best condition for their budget.... maybe if there are many of the same stamp around the same price then feedback, professional affiliations, etc might be an issue in determining who to buy from....... as a seller, I don't worry about buyer feedback..... especially as a buyer cannot receive negative feedback from a seller.
Mine is at 396. but I notice that a lot of my purchases have never had any feedback. So it is just a number not an accurate reflection on your purchases.
I've said this a few times before and have been jumped on for it. I always give feedback as a buyer, whether the seller looks at it or not is not important to me. I believe it is important to say "thank You" whenever a good service of any kind has been provided. That reflects on the way I was brought up! The fact that quite a few sellers now do not provide feedback merely reflects on the way they were brought up. It only takes a few seconds to say "thank you" but with the way a lot of people seem to be in a huge hurry now-a-days it is not a big surprise that common courtesy is becoming less common! OK, JUMP!!! To all of you sellers who always give feedback, whether it has meaning or not, I thank you! To the others, well, PFFFFT!!
Finally hit my last attainable level!!
I am strictly a buyer on E-Bay even though many years ago my wife and I did sell there for a couple years. When my wife died (I hate the expression "I lost my wife") I decided to get back into stamps after a few years away from them while she was sick. I have worked my way up to 476 feed backs and am closing in on 500 which will probably be the last level of stars (purple) I will get to. I know this is a very low number compared to some of you and even though most people don't seem to care about their E-Bay stars I am quite looking forward to it!! Call me weird, call me anal, just don't call me late for dinner!
