re: Higgins and Gage

Guys,
Please be a little bit clearer about abbrivations :

H and G number? -> Higgins & Gage World Postal Stationery Catalog number

And further more I do not understand why this is a PRIVATE postcard.

It is a nice letter which was send by Luftpost (airmail) via Postamt (postoffice) in Konstanz from "Berliner Ganzsachensammler verein" what means : "Berlin postal stationery collectors association"

Canceled on 30th of august 1926 in the afternoon in VILLINGEN (Baden)

"And furthermore I do not understand why this is a PRIVATE postcard."

This card was not a standard post office stamped issue. Instead, the cards were printed with this combination of stamps on request from a customer.

The GPO (the UK Post Office) provided a similar service with the postal stationery usually referred to as "Stamped to Order".

The Michel Ganzsachen-Katalog Deutschland catalogue provides an unpriced overview based on the printed stamp(s).

This stamp combination is listed as Mi PP 90 where "PP" refers to "Privat-Postkarten".

You missed the word "order". Private order postcard. i.e. Specially ordered and preprinted with the business information in the corner.

re: Higgins and Gage

I think the post's title makes it clear that I'm asking about the Higgins and Gage number. Perhaps you should read more carefully.
