Welcome to my world. Sellers of nice British Commonwealth who won't post to the British Commonwealth!
It really does suck!! I've had several people volunteer to buy for me and send the stuff on, great people out there!!
I wonder what the rationale is for a US member not wanting to help out a Canadian member with their collecting. Especially on what should be a friendship-oriented site.
Joe: Did you ask this person? Did they have any sort of logic behind the decision or is it moreso the increasingly jingoistic approach to the world at large?
In no way would I assume that this is some nationalistic issue.
Instead, I assume that the issue resides primarily with the international UPU regulations that were implemented a while back which disallows merchandise to be sent using First Class mail. This regulation means that merchandise needs to be identified and appropriate declaration forms used. Read this as, sending a few stamps tucked into a First Class envelope for a reasonable cost is no longer allowed. Senders risk the First Class either being returned or otherwise not making it to the recipient.

I don't usually get in touch with the seller. I have done so previously and they usually have a very good reason. I had another SoRer buy them for me, there's many good people here willing to do good things. I don't have any problem with the original seller, sometimes international sales can be a pain, and I understand that! Thanks to everyone out there!!

Getting away from the topic a little, I'm sure no body minds very much. I much prefer meters than stamps sent to me, when I order a stamp or what not.

Here's a response from an ebay seller not shipping to Canada...
I had too many packages get lost or take waaayyyy to long to get to the Canadian destination and then ebay steps in and I ended up refunding the buyer. In the two cases, I lost $200 (each) on digital cameras. Other packages were less expensive or buyers were more patient. But after those two digital cameras bit me in the behind for $400....I said..."NO MORE!" In both cases, the digital cameras showed up about a week later. I did not see any money refunded.
In the ebay forums, I told other sellers that I happily give my Canadian sales away to them. They could not understand why I wouldn't ship to Canada. They said I was "losing money." I was "losing money" doing sales to Canada.
But for real laughs, I have a Canadian seller on SOR that I buy from regularly that ships to me to the US. I've never had an issue.

Michael, I can certainly understand why you are upset and why you won't ship to Canada! I would probably do the same if I were you! Sorry!!

The sour grapes seller missed his chance. eBay sends a message to seller’s email advising that they are taking the money. Below that is a button marked “Dispute”.
Once the camera showed up, especially if tracking now showed as delivered, all he had to do was to dispute with reason that either tracking or the buyer agreed it was received.
I have a few se-tenant blocks of US stamps from the 1960's and 1970's I would like to replace due to staining from Scotch tape. So I always check out US books. Sure enough I found a book a few minutes ago and was really excited and then I noticed that the seller is one of a couple who will not ship to Canada!! Very very annoying!!
