...can not resist and show You:
Yugoslavia, 1939 year, First International Motor race in Belgrade ....
WWII so near and they made it!
It is listed in Michel catalog under number 381/384, Sept. 3, 1939.
Nice catalog prices of 13.00 euro per mnh set of 4.
Nice! I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for a set of those. A quick search on hipstamp resulted in just a first day cover at a hefty $85. For anyone else interested, the Scott numbers are B94-97.
To friends in Australia - I'd very much like to get a used copy of this stamp. Can anyone help?
Also used copies of these. I'm a major Supercars fan, and these have me really excited!
Hi Allen
If no one else has them I will see what I can do ,I do have a set in the auction at the moment. What about covers we have had several F1 races here in Adelaide and there are lots of covers floating around and they are not expensive?
Cheers Brian
Thanks, Brian! Yes, I've already bid on the set that you have listed. Still, I'd prefer to find used copies of them when I can. As far as covers go, I'm trying to steer clear of that, as I'm already up to my ears in covers for other collections and I always find it a pain to get them to fit into a collection nicely.

Thought I'd share a recent acquisition here. This is a cover with a pictorial cancellation from the Hockenheimring in Germany. This circuit was built in 1932 and has undergone many layout changes over the years. It originally featured very long, high speed straights that blasted through the forest. As the speed of the cars got ever faster, the racing became too dangerous and forced the changes to the layout. Perhaps the most infamous tidbit about this track is the fact that Jim Clark, arguably the greatest racing driver of all time, lost his life in a crash in a Formula 2 race there in 1968. Hockenheimring has hosted just about every imaginable European racing series, including Formula 1, DTM, World Endurance Championship, and even a NASCAR race.
Can anyone shed some light on this item? I know little to nothing about Great Britain stamps, and less than nothing about "smiler" sheets. Are these images just user input personalized stamps, or are they standard with some other personalization? It's described as CS-9 2010. Debating on whether or not to add this to my collection. I tend to shun anything that isn't actually used on mail, like the Ajman and other spurious issues designed to part collectors from cash rather than fill some postal duty.
One of my other passions in life besides stamps is auto racing. I'm looking to buy stamps, souvenir sheets, and other ephemera that involve Formula 1 teams, drivers, tracks, cars, or just F1 in general. Also seeking NASCAR related and sports car racing philatelia.
