Russian White Army revenue?
From a posting on Hipstamp...
1919 Russia Cinderella Russian White Army Revenue Stamp Unused Small Hinge Remnant 90% Original Gum Translation: Russians!! For Faith (Trust) and for Fatherland. A white Russian émigré was a Russian subject who emigrated from the territory of the former Russian Empire in the wake of the Russian Revolution (1917) and Russian Civil War (1917–1923), and who was in opposition to the revolutionary (Red Communist) Russian political climate.
Very interesting. Thank you!
This is one of a group of labels celebrating the White (anti-bolshevik) side in the Russian Civil War.
The other labels have a smaller format and each shows an individual White leader (Kolchak, Denikin, Wrangel, Kornilov etc.)
The expert Dr Ceresa described them as bogus and probably produced in Italy around 1920/21. The Cyrillic inscriptions have errors.
Hello Nigel,
Amazing! Are you "wikipedia" on Russian stamps?
Thanks, Virgil
