APS Announces Five New Stamp Chats for October
9/12/2023

As part of October’s celebration of National Stamp Collecting Month, the APS is excited to announce a full month of brand-new Stamp Chats. That's five weeks and five Stamp Chats, airing each Tuesday evening in October at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Schedule
Week 1: October 3
We start off the month with Greg Galletti, lifelong philatelist, APS Board Vice President, and Chairman of UNEXPO 2023. Greg and several guests will share their experience and passion for United Nations philately in anticipation of UNEXPO, which will be held at the American Philatelic Center in Bellefonte on October 20-21.

Week 2: October 10
Next up is the APS’s very own Ken Martin. Join Ken as he presents Part 1 of Stamp Collecting 101, a two-part talk designed to introduce new stamp collectors to the basics of philately. This Stamp Chat will allow time for plenty of questions from the audience, so come prepared!

Week 3: October 17
In Week 3, we'll speak with Alex Haimann, Partner & Head of Business Development at Less Annoying CRM, former Chair of the Board of Vice Presidents at the APS, and major supporter of and advocate for the Young Philatelic Leaders Fellowship program. Alex will present his behind-the-scenes experience curating the “Clash of Empires,” the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War museum exhibition hosted by the Royal Philatelic Society London this past July.

Week 4: October 24
Ken Martin returns for Part 2 of Stamp Collecting 101, moving on from the absolute basics to slightly more advanced concepts. Part 2 will also feature an extended Q&A portion, so be sure to prepare all your burning questions about philatelic basics for Ken!

Week 5: October 31
We’ll wrap up the month on Halloween night with Ron Breznay’s “The Philately and Deltiology of Walpurgisnacht and the Hexentanzplatz” — that's Walpurgis Night and the "Witches' Dance Floor" for all you non-German speakers out there. Join Ron for a super-spooky presentation combines philately and horror for all the thrills and chills you need this Halloween.

We look forward to having you join us in October as we celebrate National Stamp Collecting month with a full, and festive, Stamp Chat schedule. Can't make it every Tuesday? Don't worry — videos of each Stamp Chat will be available on our Youtube channel in the days following the live event!
