Looks genuine to me. And with a Crowe cert. you can pretty much take that to the bank.
Below is another example with bigger leader and more stamps:
They are not all that rare.
Here is another example:
@banknoteguy
Thanks
I assume your two examples are not Scott # 459, perhaps I did not phase my question correctly "What my question is has anyone on SOR ever seen an right and proper example like this before? Example being Scott 459 attached with perfs. leader?
When you said it look's genuine to me, are you saying the stamps are Scott # 459?
Thank you.

Yes, 459. 459 can come in strips with leader attached. The perfs are on the leader not the strip of imperforate stamps that is glued to the leader.
@banknoteguy
OK, I learned something new.
Looks like I need to get one of these 459's with leader like you have.
May I see one of the Crowe certificates, I want to see what the cert. says, if you don't mind.
Many thanks in advance

Below is the Crowe cert for the current eBay listing:
I have several US coil strips with leaders, but I forget which Scott #s they were. So I have seen this type of item up close.
It's kind of weird, I've been a very serious US collector since 1972 and have a huge collection. But I don't have one coil with a leader. They sound very similar to the way pasted-up-pairs are done. I don't have any of those for the US either and I know they exist! Two more items for my bucket stamp list!!
@banknoteguy
Many thanks for your latest posting, it confirms exactly what I thought.
Again thank you!
Very interesting something to serious think about!

The coils with leaders are not expansive!
Good luck in your chase finding example(s).

Apparently I have Scott #839 and #841, perf 10 vertical coils, with leader strips.
I have a couple of hundred Leaders and Coils, I try to collect them in pairs (coil and leader from same coil roll). Also beware of fakes, there are quite a few floating around. Here is a small online exhibit of some of mine

See scan below from Ebay, which shows a Scott # 459 attached to a leader. It comes with a certificate.
Now then I'm not questioning whether it's a real 459!
What my question is has anyone on SOR ever seen an right and proper example like this before?
Please respond to "1898"
