"Reverse scan?"

Very, very interesting smauggie and Roy. Thank you!!
@roy
I don't think it's even possible to just get a picture of the gum, how would you remove the gum without destroying it, some how keep it intact and then scan it, maybe I dense this morning, so please tell us how you do this. Educate me?

Ooooooh...
You got me.
I second Roy,
Most 1898 postings leave me like this
@roy
I hope you are finished with your little game.
I suggest getting back to the question about the stamp(s) reverse scan!
You can't remove the gum like you suggested! We don't even know if the stamps have gum.
There's plenty to see on the reverse side of a stamp, like clues how it was printed, clue about possible watermark(s), clues if there is an offset images, etc., you just have to look!

David, Your responses leaves me to wonder how you ever became a stamp collector at all, much less to ask such stupid suggestions or questions!

I have had these stamps in a stock book for a few years and decided to try and identify them today. I didn't get very far. I still have no idea exactly what they are. Thank you.
