It is the centre block of the sheet. The only block of four of the same stamps in the sheet.
Thanks Suzanne, you win the "No Prize". ( Back in the early days of Marvel Comics, if you sent in a letter that Stan Lee or Jack Kirby liked they sent you an empty Marvel envelope with the words "No Prize" on the front. The ones signed by either, or both, of the two are worth big money now! ). Anyway, you won!! There is also a center block for the five cent stamp sheet, which hopefully I can get my hands on as well. The Unitrade price for either block is around $50 CD, since the catalog is a Canadian product the prices are in Canadian dollars. I actually never heard about these blocks until a few years ago. Mine is used so it was probably sent from one collector to another to get a used copy - same value for used or mint.
EDIT: Almost forgot, because this was near the beginning of the age of phosphor tagging, the 4 cent and 6 cent center blocks came in tagged and non tagged versions. If I remember right the tagged versions are a bit rarer. Those were the days when every collector, if they were into tagged stamps, had to have a black light handy. Winnipeg tagging was one central bar and Ottawa tagging was two bars on the sides. Without looking it up I think these were Ottawa tagged.

Thanks for posting the picture of the whole sheet, really helps!
As to tagging, I have the basic tagging as illustrated in my Harris album. But, back in the day, my wife and I decided after accumulating the basic material (from 1962 to 1972) that we would stay away from most of the tagging varieties and material. It was everywhere!! I also remember reading articles in Canadian Stamp News (before the internet) how people were contaminating the rest of their collection with tagging migrating from tagged stamps to non tagged stamps. We started early on keeping tagged stuff isolated and in black mounting to minimize the risk. So because of this, even though I am a very serious collector, my knowledge of tagging is not very good. I guess you really can't know everything!!
Almost forgot Roy, thanks for the offer of the tagging varieties. I'm going to pass though. I did go through a brief time period where I accumulated different tagged material but you had to always have the black light out to see things. I'm not sure why exactly but that turned me off tagging a bit! The only thing I really want for these two Christmas sets is the other center block and I think I have that taken care of. I could never get into the craze for tagging varieties at the time and don't really want to start now. How do the rest of you feel about this?
Edit: As part of my basic tagged collection I have 519p to 530p which is all I really need.
This is not actually the block I got from Tom, just a generic image from online. The one I got from him is even more unusual since it is used. Here's a little bit of a challenge. Without looking it up, that's cheating, can anyone tell me what is so unusual about this very boring looking block of Canada Christmas stamps? Tom, you're not allowed to answer. No prize is available, just the satisfaction of answering the question! If you have to look it up it is Scott # 525i, but please give the non-cheaters a chance to answer first!
