I posted the same question on the StampBoards website. They are saying that it is a Tin Shed Flaw. Apparently the stamp was printed during wartime and quality was not high priority. Some adhesive would get on the front of the stamp before printing and when a used stamp is soaked that Adhesive would come off along with the ink on top of it. Considered a freak and adds some more value to the stamp.

I came across this stamp in a collection. Not sure if it has plate cracks or something else. The stamp has an inverted watermark that is split in the crown. I believe it is Scott 24. Would like to hear other collectors thoughts. Is it legit?
Thanks,
Bob Parkin
