Maybe the printer ran the sheets through the perforator before the gum machine by mistake.
I was looking through my Unitrade and noticed a comment with Newfoundland #180. It says it was gummed after it was perforated, it didn't say why, but it was. I had a look at the stamp with a strong loupe and you really could tell. It would be no sense showing a picture because you have to get very close and personal with the stamp before you can see that almost all the holes are partially filled with gum / glue. I wonder how many people have noticed this and just assumed the stamp was regummed! If you have a copy of this beautiful little stamp check yours out and see if you can spot the gum in the perf holes. Very interesting, I wonder how many other stamps this was done to.
