All you need is the abilty to see and now how to count.

There is a booklet "Perforation Measurements of United States Stamps" from the Bureau Issues Association. (see scan) See page 3 of this booklet which explains this simple and fast method.

There is a way to determine the perforation if you can't use a gauge! (see scan)

Now then this system works but I'm not saying to throw out your perforation gauge, just use this system if you can't use a gauge!

My experience I've found a U.S.A. 544 and 511a and a few others.

By the way this will also work on Pre 31 Dec 1970 Candian stamps that were using the right and proper standard thousands of an inch!

This little image I should have included in my original posting, for Candian and United States of America stamp collectors might find this useful!

My original posting was moved again, it should not have been moved from United States Stamps as that was and is the main topic.

The title of my original posting is exactly what the subject matter was.

This part was added "People, please be more specific in your thread titles to avoid confusion." There was no confusion as it was primary for U. S. stamp collectors.

I have no problem where it was moved to.
